Requirements

Candidates should possess an Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A current CompTIA Security+ certification is required and must be current, along with 2+ years of experience in systems administration in a Windows and/or Linux environment. Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls is also necessary, as is knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and frameworks like NIST and RMF.

Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, security, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of IT infrastructure while maintaining compliance with cybersecurity standards. This includes installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and/or Linux servers, workstations, and network devices, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, managing user accounts and permissions, applying system patches and updates, implementing and maintaining data backup and disaster recovery strategies, and supporting cybersecurity initiatives by ensuring systems are compliant with security protocols. The role also involves collaborating with IT and security teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and responding to security incidents and assisting in audits or assessments.
