  • Excellent collaboration, influence with senior leaders, and ability to inspire cross-functional teams
  • Capacity to drive cultural change, foster innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork
  • Experience in law firm relationship management, including strategies to reduce inefficient work, new fee structures, rate negotiations, data collection on engagements, feedback, and collaboration
  • Ability to shape and monitor performance metrics across projects in a dynamic, multi-project environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead Blackstone’s effort to find, design, and implement better ways of working internally and with law firm partners
  • Identify latest and most effective technologies for L&C, develop related business cases, drive projects and transformational change across Blackstone (e.g., tech implementation with other functions and business units)
  • Rethink how Blackstone works with trusted law firm partners
  • Manage a team responsible for critical aspects of L&C tech, implementation, knowledge management, and change management
  • Actively research latest in AI and tech, source ideas for tech enablement within L&C, and learn L&C’s needs/processes to find solutions
  • Lead development of business cases for L&C technology initiatives, including ROI projections and implementation roadmaps
  • Ensure legal and compliance innovation initiatives are scalable and adaptable across global jurisdictions
  • Coordinate teams implementing L&C’s tech solutions, including direct reports and Blackstone’s tech team (e.g., onboarding leading Legal AI vendors)
  • Guide knowledge management efforts, including documentation of best practices and tools, vendor management, and feedback
  • Lead change management to drive adoption of new technologies (e.g., AI) and processes across L&C teams (e.g., training, solution design for adoption)
  • Create clear and regular engagement with stakeholders, including L&C group and Blackstone more broadly
  • Track and report on the impact of technology initiatives, ensuring successful adoption and integration
  • Develop and execute strategies to strengthen relationships with law firms, including reducing inefficient work and creating new fee structures
  • Lead preparation for annual law firm rate negotiations; oversee collection of information about law firm engagement (e.g., matters, feedback, spend)
  • Facilitate regular feedback and collaboration dialogues with select law firm partners
  • Drive change with law firms (e.g., adopting new technologies) and within investor teams (e.g., efficient sourcing strategies for counsel)
  • Shape and monitor performance metrics across all projects
