Position Overview

CenterWell Home Health (CWHH), a division of CenterWell and part of Humana Inc., is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead its national operations. As the nation's largest provider of senior-focused primary care and a significant player in home health and pharmacy benefit management, CenterWell is dedicated to whole-person health. The COO will be instrumental in overseeing the operational performance, clinical delivery, and service excellence across CWHH's extensive network of home health locations. Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Accountable for end-to-end CWHH operational leadership, driving operational workflows to support all business areas for over 12,000 associates across more than 350 branches in over 40 states.
  • Culture & Engagement: Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and mission alignment. Promote and drive accountability for employee engagement, retention, and talent development across the organization.
  • Process & Policy Development: Lead a team to develop and implement scalable operational processes, policies, and systems to support high-quality, cost-effective service delivery that meets or exceeds all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Integration: Partner with the Home Solutions leadership team to translate company strategy into measurable, actionable operating plans.
  • Clinical Excellence: Collaborate with clinical leadership to uphold and improve standards of care, patient safety, and outcome-based performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS Conditions of Participation and accreditation standards.
  • Performance Improvement: Drive performance improvement initiatives using data, analytics, and best practices.
  • Growth & Integration: Support the integration of new acquisitions and the launch of de novo sites, ensuring seamless operational and cultural alignment. Contribute to due diligence and post-acquisition planning for mergers and partnerships.
  • Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of regional and operational leaders.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets, forecasts, and operating plans that support financial targets. Identify operational efficiencies and margin improvements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned business executive with extensive experience in clinical operations, payor, and provider settings. A strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and reimbursement environments is essential, along with a proven track record of leading distributed teams in a growth-oriented environment. This position can be located anywhere within the contiguous lower 48 states.
