Role Overview
This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly.
The Sr. Associate I, Surgical Specialty Sales (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for achieving sales targets and promoting Alcon's advanced technologies to medical practitioners. You will build confidence in product adoption through support and training, and when in a managerial role, handle sales planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a customer consultant to drive growth through advanced technology adoption and project implementation
- Evaluate customer business to provide personalized guidance, training, and tools to enhance patient experience and further develop advanced technology/specialty business
- Demonstrate economic and medical benefits of advanced technology to healthcare professionals and clinic managers
- Differentiate Alcon products from competitors from clinical and value perspectives
- Lead and implement advanced technology account development projects
- Deploy value-added services and training to boost technology adoption
- Manage assigned products within the Alcon surgical franchise, reporting to the Marketing Manager
- Ensure technical excellence in the operating room to support product usage and liaise with Clinical Application Specialists for excellent customer clinical training
- Engage in technical and clinical discussions to generate demand and implement solutions
- Develop marketing strategies to meet brand objectives and customer needs, and monitor business performance to take corrective actions to meet objectives
- Develop and implement plans to optimize profitability, market share, and revenue growth
- Drive and participate in conventions, trainings, and educational events with healthcare professionals, and initiate and lead local events to meet customer needs
Primary Responsibilities
- Initiates current sales opportunities and educates by building business/professional relationships within major teaching hospitals, academic centers, and affiliated Department of Defense and Veteran’s Affairs Hospitals to satisfy sales goals and achieve quota targets in the Cincinnati, OH and surrounding areas.
- Strategically influences key physicians, residents, and fellows as champions/advocates of targeted Alcon Surgical products.
- Improves Alcon relationships by identifying key decision makers and establishing communication with physician staff, residents and fellows at all US academic institutions.
- Demonstrates strong technical and clinical abilities to discuss products in the operating room and perform product in-services.
- Coordinates and leads educational presentations and surgical wet labs.
- Handles the annual resident hand-off program with the surgical field sales team.
- Coordinates tactical and strategic cross functional initiatives that enhance Alcon’s trusted partnerships within select academic institutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc. +6 yrs.; M.S.)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Proven Experience
