The globally distributed support team focuses on minimizing time to fix and collaborates closely with product engineering and growth teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial and timely responses to support cases covering a range of topics, including billing, pre-sales inquiries, optimization, and implementation questions.

  • Identify opportunities for internal tooling development or acquisition to enhance support efficiency.
  • Reproduce issues, create test cases, and improve test coverage if you have experience in testing.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in customer support, specifically providing developer support to technical customers.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL, with a strong preference for PostgreSQL and comfort with complex SQL queries. Database administration experience is a plus.
    • Skilled in using Linux/Unix operating systems and the command line.
    • Experience working with GitHub Issues and Discussions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Bonus Points:

  • Workdays: This position covers Friday through Monday, based on the UTC times mentioned above, which may vary slightly depending on your specific timezone.

What We Offer

  • Ownership: ESOP (equity ownership in the company).
  • Autonomy: Autonomous work with collaborative project involvement; you set your own pace.
  • Benefits:
    • Health, Vision, and Dental benefits, with Supabase covering 100% of employee costs and 80% for dependents.
    • Generous Tech Allowance for office setup needs.
    • Annual Education Allowance.
  • Team Events: Annually run off-sites.

About the Team

We are a startup with an unstructured environment, collectively founded more than 30 startups. Our team is globally distributed, comprising individuals from over 30 different nationalities. We are deeply committed to the efficacy of collaborative open source, supporting existing communities and tools rather than creating duplicates. We "dogfood" everything we build; if it's used in your project, it's used in Supabase.

Application Process

The entire process is fully remote, with all communication conducted via email or video chat.

  1. Application Submission: Submit your application.
  2. Screening: The team will review your submission and may contact you for a short screening interview via video call.
  3. Follow-up Interviews: If you pass the screening, you will be invited to up to four follow-up interviews.
    • Each interview typically lasts between 20-45 minutes.
    • Most interviews are 1:1.
    • Interviews will be with founders, a member of the growth or engineering team (depending on the role), and usually one other person from your immediate team or function.
  4. Decision: After the interviews, the team will discuss candidates and roles. They may:
    • Ask one or two follow-up questions via email or a quick call.
