Requirements

Deep, hands-on, expert knowledge of PostgreSQL, including PostgreSQL provided tools and contributor modules
Proficiency with the wider PostgreSQL ecosystem of tools and technologies, such as pgvector, repmgr, barman, pglogical, Patroni, pgBouncer, and similar/related tools
Experience with performance tuning, including server configuration, query optimization, and table and index tuning
Familiarity with backup solutions and best practices including pg base backup, pgBackRest and WAL-G, Point-in-Time-Recovery, etc
Experience with high availability solutions, including replication, routers, proxies, etc
Experience administering Linux systems
Experience with containerization and Kubernetes, including deployment, administration, and troubleshooting problems encountered when using PostgreSQL under that environment
Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identifying and applying fixes for known errors, and when necessary, demonstrating a capacity to think outside of the box to resolve complex issues
Self-taught, self-directed, and enthusiastic about growing your skillset with new technologies as the industry evolves
Fluent in communicating with customers in English, both in verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

Helping customers’ DBA teams when they need expert assistance with high complexity problems
Gathering relevant data and investigating issues to provide a detailed analysis of findings
Providing a detailed analysis of findings in a digestible format by email, instant message, or voice
Performing screen-sharing sessions to help customers quickly navigate and resolve issues
Authoring new blog posts on interesting topics for the open-source community
Answering questions on the forum
Creating new articles in the customer-facing knowledge base
