Knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning for new projects with suppliers
Experience with supplier audits, quality system assessments, and standards

Responsibilities

Monitor progress and timeliness of actions by the SDE team with current and new suppliers to ensure delivery of required quality, on time, and per specifications
Conduct follow-up audits in conjunction with purchasing from negotiation stages through to start of production
Oversee development, implementation, and execution of supplier development strategy for the BorgWarner DBS Irapuato SDE team
Oversee development, implementation, and execution of quality assurance for new launches with global supplier management and corporate supplier development
Oversee and control planning, execution, and measurement of effectiveness of supplier audits using quality system assessments and standards
Verify cadence of follow-up meetings and corrective actions for supplier issues with the Supplier Quality Engineer
Oversee and verify presentation of SDE team's evaluation of supplier incident quality indicators and monthly PPMs
Provide support and guidance in decision-making related to suppliers and component quality with Product Engineering and Quality
Participate in and supervise development of Supplier Quality Engineer's skills and competencies via internal training
Participate in preparation of FMEA documentation
Participate in and suggest use of improvement tools for continuous improvement or cost reduction projects with suppliers
