Requirements

Hands-on experience working directly with Managed Care, Commercial insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid
Ability to supervise team members in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Expertise in billing and collections processes for DME Services
Ability to operate independently under general management direction

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership for all billing/collection team activities to ensure business and compliance requirements are met
Drive claims to insurance companies and governmental (Medicare) billings to achieve collections targets set by management
Design, implement, and manage billing and collection processes for DME Services
Act as subject matter expert for the department on billing and collections issues
Develop and deliver technical training courses and oversee training of new associates
Act as department conduit for knowledge sharing and communication on optimal usage of system tools
Prepare complex trend analyses, identify root causes of issues and trends, and drive process improvements
Prepare compelling data presentations and identify emerging operational issues
Support relationships and effective communications with key customers and Abbott sales force management
Independently manage divisional and corporate accounting, budget, and reporting requirements
Coordinate and lead intra-department process improvement teams
Complete daily and month-end reporting, and track key billing and collections metrics
Continually improve billing and collections processes
Review, analyze, and identify delinquent status of assigned accounts to determine appropriate collection efforts
Delegate work assignments to teams based on billing/collection reporting and priorities
Update collection policy and procedures as appropriate or assigned
