Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, although equivalent experience may be considered. A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations is required, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in a complex production environment. Prior experience in defense or maritime technology is preferred.
The Subassembly Manager will lead the subassembly team in the preparation, assembly, and integration of critical components and systems for Autonomous Surface Vessels. They will supervise and mentor technicians and assemblers, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and best practices. The role involves continuously evaluating and refining assembly processes for efficiency and cost reductions while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with the engineering team is essential to ensure manufacturable designs and resolve technical issues. The manager will develop and manage production schedules for subassemblies, ensuring on-time delivery while balancing capacity and resource constraints. They will also ensure all subassemblies meet quality standards, collaborating with the quality assurance team on testing protocols and inspections. Accurate documentation on subassembly processes, inventory levels, and production status must be maintained, along with regular updates to senior management. Lastly, enforcing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines is a key responsibility.
