Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design or sustaining engineering, specifically within robotics or complex electromechanical systems. They must demonstrate proficiency with structured Failure Analysis (FA) techniques, including 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis, and possess a solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design, encompassing sensors, motor drivers, and power electronics. Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer or OrCAD, PLM systems like Arena or Agile, and lab tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters is also required.
The Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer will lead structured Failure Analysis (FA) efforts on robotic systems and subassemblies, serving as a technical lead for resolving complex electrical issues in production and field environments. They will author and present FA reports with technical rigor, drive and own Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for electrical design improvements, maintain and improve electrical documentation, and collaborate with various engineering and operations teams. The role involves troubleshooting systemic issues, partnering with manufacturing and supply chain to improve yield and address component obsolescence, leading qualification efforts for alternate components, supporting electrical bring-up and debug, identifying cost reduction initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers.
