Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field, and hold a minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, specifically related to robotics or automation. Strong experience managing complex, integrated programs and working with contract manufacturers is essential. Knowledge of statistical analysis, reliability methods, and quality management systems (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is required, along with the ability to understand and apply technical knowledge to drive product quality.

Responsibilities

The Principal Quality Assurance Manager will lead efforts to partner with product solutions architects, quality engineers, and technology providers to support concepts and designs, and facilitate end-to-end solutions. They will develop and update Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to ensure requirements align with Symbotic goals and mitigate potential product failures. The role involves leading projects with quality activities such as PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and process capability, reviewing engineering and manufacturing tasks, initiating corrective actions, and recommending improvements to system designs. Furthermore, they will lead engineering change requests, ensure projects are engineered for long-term reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to plan and implement automation solutions, manage issues and risks, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and field reliability.
