Candidates should possess a minimum of 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair or trade school certification, along with a valid driver’s license and potentially a mechanical or trade school certificate and high school diploma or G.E.D. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or working with conveyors is preferred, and PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical and electrical aptitude is desired.
The Stationary Equipment Technician performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks to maximize safe and productive operations, diagnosing mechanical problems using various resources and performing repairs such as replacing parts and conveyor belts. They also complete paperwork documenting repairs, communicate with supervisors and equipment operators, and may repair and install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems while adhering to safety policies and completing daily consumables reports using Fleet Management Software.
