Manifold is a health research infrastructure company dedicated to accelerating precision medicine. We aim to make the generation of knowledge, development of treatments, and improvement of patient outcomes ten times faster and one-tenth the cost. Our AI-powered research platform enables researchers to focus on high-impact work by managing complex data, omics, manual processes, analysis backlogs, and collaboration friction. We partner with leading healthcare providers, life sciences organizations, and research institutions to unlock real-world data and deliver actionable insights.

Manifold is a Series B funded startup with over 50 employees across North America, backed by prominent investors and healthcare leaders.

Our Culture

At Manifold, we foster a culture of intellectual rigor, humility, and mission-driven collaboration. We work with speed, think deeply, and strive to make a significant impact on the lives of patients and researchers.

About the Role

As a Product Designer at Manifold, you will leverage innovative design to create engaging user experiences and interfaces for our advanced AI and computational science products. Your work will directly contribute to the development of new products and features on Manifold's AI-powered research platform, empowering users to accelerate and enhance precision health research.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to define problems and goals, map user flows, design and prototype in Figma, and develop new products and features.
  • Act as a key contributor in our product discovery process, effectively presenting and explaining ideas and designs to colleagues and development partners, and guiding teams towards optimal solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our design system, working collaboratively to ensure consistency and quality as the product evolves.
  • Occasionally engage with code to assist with product polish.
  • Exercise a high degree of autonomy within a nimble, growing team, while actively participating in a safe and collaborative design environment where mutual support is encouraged to achieve the best work.
  • Participate in weekly feedback meetings with the design team to share and receive input.

What You’ll Bring

  • Expertise in at least one design tool (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Some experience with front-end development languages or frameworks such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or React.
  • Understanding of evolving UI/UX best practices and modern application trends.
  • A "user-obsessed mentality," prioritizing end-user needs while balancing company priorities and constraints.
  • Proficiency in facilitating discovery interviews, asking insightful questions, and synthesizing information to define project goals.
  • Experience working as the sole designer on new products or features.
  • Ability to provide accurate estimates for design iterations and stages, and comfort in collaborating with project managers on timelines.
  • Knowledge of best practices for production considerations and methods.

Manifold Bio

Designs precision biologics using in vivo methods

About Manifold Bio

Manifold Bio specializes in creating precision biologics for the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on drug design and development. Their main product is an in vivo drug design platform, which allows for testing drugs within living organisms rather than in laboratory settings. This platform utilizes mCodes™ technology, a unique protein barcoding system that enables the simultaneous study of multiple proteins in one experiment, making it particularly effective for complex biologics. Unlike other companies, Manifold Bio's approach to drug design is distinct because it integrates in vivo testing with advanced protein multiplexing capabilities. The company's goal is to expand their platform and collaborate with other pharmaceutical companies to develop new therapeutics.
