Senior Product Designer

Position Overview

Dandy is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our Product/UX Design team. This role is crucial in our mission to transform the dental industry by integrating and simplifying practice functions through technology. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be customer-obsessed, identifying and defining customer problems to craft seamless and effective design solutions that drive defined customer outcomes.

About the Role and Team

This position will be placed within one of two focus domains, to be finalized during the interview process:

• Internal Tools Team: This team supports the user experience for all internal Dandy employees, with a primary focus on the experience of expert designers who craft end products for our clients' patients.
• Customer-Facing Product Line Team: This team supports the end-to-end design requirements for a full product line, covering aspects from customer onboarding and scanning/ordering to fabrication updates, delivery feedback, and more.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to Define and Solve User Problems: Work closely with stakeholders and users to identify and define user pain points. Craft innovative design solutions that improve workflows and drive measurable user outcomes.
• Design Seamless Experiences: Lead the end-to-end design within your designated domain, empowering users to complete their tasks and goals seamlessly. Create intuitive, scalable interfaces that streamline user workflows.
• Iterate and Validate Designs: Utilize qualitative and quantitative user research to iterate on designs. Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback to ensure solutions meet user needs and achieve both user and business outcomes.
• Advocate for User-Centered Design: Champion a customer-obsessed approach by fostering user empathy within the team. Ensure the customer's voice is consistently heard and is a driving force in the experiences delivered.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in product design.
• A portfolio showcasing examples of your design work within the industry. Your examples should effectively tell the story of your ability to:
  • Define a user problem.
  • Work collaboratively and iteratively.
  • Craft an effective design strategy that solves the problem.
  • Meet defined user outcomes once released.
• Ability to formulate strong points of view, balancing user needs, business needs, and supporting data/metrics.
• Solid understanding of basic research methods and how to use both qualitative and quantitative data to inform designs.
• Proficiency in knowing when to apply the appropriate level of fidelity to your work, balancing speed to learning versus rigor.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.

Bonus Points For

• Experience in the dental or healthcare software industry.
• Experience in supply chain design (e.g., order status, debugging order issues).
• Experience in 3D CAD design (e.g., using Figma/Photoshop editors, 3D CAD editors for design plane manipulation).
