Requirements

Candidates should possess prior experience designing and building complex backend solutions, a solid background in schema design and data modeling, including SQL and ideally some NoSQL solutions, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. A history of reducing ownership cost and improving reliability and observability in a product is also desired, along with an interest in being involved in Forma.ai’s product direction and establishing best development practices.

Responsibilities

The Staff Backend Engineer will lead development efforts for Forma.ai’s Spark-based data platform, contributing to the evolution of complex, data-rich platform features and serving as an example of code quality and thoughtful software design. They will work on challenging code, collaborate with Product, Engineers, and Analytics teams, and participate in establishing best development practices and processes from design to deployment, while maintaining the software solution.
