Requirements

Candidates should have 6+ years of experience writing and shipping production software in GoLang, with hands-on Python experience in production or non-production settings. Experience building and designing high-scale systems on AWS with a variety of database technologies (RDBMS, OLAP, NoSQL, etc.) is required. Working knowledge of event-driven distributed systems, Kafka, and distributed data processing technologies (Flink/Spark/etc) is also necessary. A proven track record of success in remote startups, particularly in mid to late stage companies, and a strong desire to add new technologies to your toolkit are essential. Experience with Terraform or IAC tools, building and deploying applications on K8s, and building streaming and/or batch data pipelines and ETL are considered nice to have.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, maintain, and scale the Data Platform team’s services and APIs. They will build batch and streaming data pipelines, act as tech lead for individual projects by writing design docs, scoping tasks, and delegating to other engineers. The role also involves maintaining and enhancing Postscript’s third-party integrations and contributing to team planning and process improvement.
