Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company professionally, ethically, and morally at all times
  • Develop high-value customer accounts through the sale of Illumina’s products and services
  • Participate in all sales activities, including customer demonstrations, training, and support
  • Coordinate and communicate sales activities and strategies to supervisor
  • Develop and maintain all account/contact details within Illumina’s CRM database and monitor customer purchasing
  • Provide regular and accurate sales forecast updates
  • Assist with the development and execution of a customized territory plan for optimal sales return and travel efficiency
  • Maintain effective, professional relationships with internal customers and product development groups
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of territory users in CRM and identify sales leverage opportunities
  • Spend at least 40% of time in the field developing customer relationships
  • Appropriately utilize company resources and manage operating expenses to support sales
  • Negotiate all genetic analysis sales in territory and generate associated contracts and quotations
  • Assist in the identification and recruitment of new sales people as required
  • Aid, support, and help develop new sales territories created through business growth
  • Assist with workshops, conventions, seminar series, and other marketing activities
  • Identify and manage high-caliber genetic analysis sales opportunities through professional screening and information resources
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of prospects (personnel, budgeting, politics, products, competition, market)
  • Initiate and develop relationships with key personnel at selected targets
  • Promptly follow up on sales leads by direct contact and screening commencement
  • Work with company personnel as intermediaries to establish target customer relationships
  • Distinguish between regular sales and business development opportunities, involving Business Development when needed while maintaining primary customer relationship responsibility
  • Close high-quality sales prospects to meet sales targets
  • Maintain primary relationship with prospects during pre-sales, sales, and post-sales phases
  • Maintain profit margins through effective sales negotiation
