Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (minimum)
  • Five (5) years of related experience
  • Five (5) years of industry experience, including two (2) years of Project Management experience (preferred)
  • Two (2) years of related industry experience (preferred and highly desirable)
  • Two (2) years of experience with Plexus or equivalent service industry (preferred)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform key job accountabilities may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Manage core technology and direct activities of a functional engineering team
  • Provide technical project oversight for company projects and/or PLXS-ENG customer projects, ensuring they are within budget and on schedule
  • Act as an active contributor in shaping team and site culture
  • Provide strategic peer leadership, partnering with Director of Engineering and Senior Management on staffing, training, and development to meet long-range goals
  • Ensure technical success of programs by anticipating customer needs, staffing appropriately, directing continuous improvement of tools and processes, identifying leading indicators of challenges, and taking mitigating actions
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System through process ownership and CAPA resolution
  • Expand and grow technical and leadership competencies by hiring diverse, high-potential talent
  • Establish and achieve group growth objectives through headcount growth and upskilling employees to support customer demands
  • Guide, train, and provide strategic leadership to peers to meet long-range goals
  • Exemplify and hold team accountable to Plexus Core Values; evaluate potential, drive succession planning, and ensure employee development and coaching
  • Drive non-billable hours optimization (NBHO), minimize administrative tasks, and maximize value-add activities
  • Manage headcount and flex staffing model to meet customer and business needs
  • Drive CapEx planning for functional team and partner with site Director of Engineering to manage variable and fixed costs for site profitability
  • Effectively manage team resources and lead projects to successful execution, including partnering with engineering team to identify solutions, and managing expectations on scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and changes
