Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in engineering management and people leadership, including supervising engineers, conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and managing underperformance. A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering with significant technical contributions and ownership of services or components is required. Proven track record of delivering software with predictability and quality, including design reviews, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring, is essential. Experience delivering outcomes aligned to business or product goals (OKRs, metrics-based), collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and guiding architecture & design conversations are necessary. Strong organizational and process skills, along with an ownership mindset and technical depth, are also required. Prior experience in scaling engineering organizations, e-commerce domain expertise, and experience working with legacy systems are preferred.
The Engineering Manager will lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, providing feedback, growth plans, and addressing performance issues. They will build and retain a high-performing team, owning team-level outcomes and OKRs while fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include partnering with Product, Design, and Analytics to define priorities and deliver high-quality features, ensuring predictable, on-time delivery through clear processes and proactive communication. The manager will guide technical decisions within the pod, promoting scalable, maintainable, and reliable designs, and uphold quality standards through reviews, testing, and automation. Proactively identifying opportunities and risks to improve engineering effectiveness and long-term scalability is also a key duty.
