Position Overview

CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, protecting people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission has been to stop breaches, and we have redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large-scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day, with traffic that is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they rely on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe, and their lives moving forward. We are a mission-driven company that cultivates a culture of flexibility and autonomy, empowering every CrowdStriker to own their careers. We are continuously seeking talented individuals with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation, and a fanatical commitment to our customers, community, and each other. The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role

CrowdStrike’s Exposure Management is a pivotal product area. We are extending CrowdStrike’s mission of “stopping breaches” by enhancing sophistication and visibility. This involves ingesting massive amounts of data and applying various techniques and algorithms, including Machine Learning, to provide unprecedented visibility and enable a new level of industry automation. In this role, you will leverage the latest technologies to build backend services for data ingestion, calculations, and the provision of remediation tooling and automation. The team primarily uses GoLang for building microservices and various database systems.

What You'll Do

We are a highly collaborative and friendly group that values teamwork over competition. We offer opportunities to learn new skills, mentor fellow engineers, and contribute to the direction of both the team and the products we manage. We operate in a distributed, remote-first, high-trust environment where you manage your own time and have the flexibility to balance your work and personal life.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Taking full ownership of product delivery.
  • Driving the technical aspects of projects.
  • Assisting the team in defining architecture.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders on scope and priorities.

As a remote employee, communication with colleagues primarily occurs via Slack and Zoom. In this setting, your ability to work unsupervised, communicate asynchronously, and proactively maintain communication lines is crucial.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Development of back-end services hosting both private and public-facing web services.
  • Development of public-facing command-line shell utilities, some of which interact with your web services.
  • Design of supporting infrastructure (databases, real-time data streams, etc.).
  • Integration support and documentation for complementary teams (e.g., UX/UI, Sensors, etc.).
  • Participation in configuring and receiving uptime alerts related to the services you control.
  • Thoughtful reflection to improve architecture, models, user experience, performance, and stability following successful rapid prototyping and fast-paced decision-making.
  • Brainstorming and refining how customers utilize and apply the vast amounts of data we collect to automate cyber threat intelligence at a global scale.
  • Maintaining services in a healthy, operational state.

What You'll Need

Experience:

  • Experience programming in at least one object-oriented programming language with strong typing. We write code in Golang; you can learn it on the job with us!
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful API web services.
  • Experience interacting with major cloud provider APIs to provision and monitor cloud infrastructure. We primarily use Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud provider APIs, as well as Azure and Google Cloud (GCP).
  • Experience using a message queue. We use Kafka. (e.g., de...
