Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • 5+ years of Human Resources field experience
  • Proficiency in HR systems (Workday, Workforce360, Cognos)
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management aptitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, partnership, and conflict resolution
  • Managerial courage demonstrated through effective, direct, and respectful communication
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information is maintained
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and work to plan
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Acting with a sense of urgency

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders, HR Communities of Expertise, and other key stakeholders to build engagement, increase output, and attract and retain talent, in alignment with the global IT business strategy
  • Help drive overall HR organizational goals and key results including a strong focus on high performance culture, optimal organizational design, and HR capabilities
  • Guide, support, and consult business leaders on organizational optimization and HR transformation efforts
  • Create a high touch/personal HR experience for employees and leaders by supporting questions, issues, and overall engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders by providing ongoing coaching and guidance
  • Provide insight and expertise on organization design, workforce planning, talent management as well as succession planning
  • Collaborate with functional HR partners to execute processes within GM’s global performance & total rewards framework, including compensation planning, performance management, talent assessment, and succession planning
  • Partner to fill open positions with best-in-class talent by providing support during interviews and offer process in conjunction with Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) team
  • Support shaping a strong performance management culture by coaching, counselling, and guiding people leaders on performance concerns and supporting conversations with employees
  • Effectively respond to employee relation issues and partner with the Policy & Investigation Centre of Expertise (COE) to resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations
  • Coordinate and facilitate effective communication cadences with People Leaders to ensure excellence in executing all HR processes and initiatives
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual leadership coaching needs; partner with leaders to enable robust career development discussions
  • Facilitate corporate training (including local HR Learning Events, Demystify HRM, Conducting Career Development discussions, etc)
  • Leverage data analytics to analyze internal and external trends and key metrics. Share insights with business leadership to influence impactful change
  • Develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, clients, and functional partners
