Thumbtack is seeking a Senior Commercial Strategy Manager to join the Commercial Strategy team. This role is crucial for driving strategic initiatives, testing new ideas, and implementing new strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams. The Commercial Strategy team is responsible for identifying and executing growth programs, improving operational efficiency, and enabling future growth opportunities for Thumbtack.
As a Senior Commercial Strategy Manager, you will act as a thought partner to leaders across the organization, leading critical, cross-functional initiatives that shape the company's growth. You will be responsible for strategic planning cycles, launching 0-1 initiatives, and scaling critical programs. This role is unique as it sits within the Partnerships organization, contributing to both the core marketplace growth and shaping go-to-market (GTM) strategy for B2B partnerships.
This is a fast-paced, fluid role in a rapidly scaling organization. Success requires strong problem-solving skills, analytical horsepower, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to "bring structure to chaos." You will collaborate closely with executives, product and engineering leaders, marketers, sales, and finance. Strong business acumen, communication, collaboration skills, and the ability to drive progress on multiple fronts are essential. A self-starter mindset and the ability to take ownership of complex, high-priority problems from day one are key.

It is responsible for taking ideas from 0 to 1 by leading strategic initiatives and bets, and partnering cross-functionally to test, experiment, and implement new strategies. The team also owns and executes strategic growth programs at the intersection of multiple teams and functions, and serves as a center of excellence for continuous improvement, focusing on operational efficiency and rigor as the company scales. The team actively addresses problems and is key to enabling future growth opportunities.
