Requirements

Expertise in BI solution development using tools like Tableau, including designing, developing, and deploying dashboards, reports, data visualizations, complex queries, stored procedures, and data models
Proficiency in native application report builders and leveraging a wide range of BI technologies and platforms for interactive dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports
Ability to integrate data from various sources into BI platforms, ensuring consistency and accuracy
Strong business and stakeholder engagement skills, including understanding business needs, translating them into technical specifications, gathering/documenting requirements, defining KPIs, and aligning solutions with business goals
Experience providing ongoing support, responding to queries, troubleshooting, and delivering updates
Leadership and mentorship capabilities, including guiding on BI best practices, query optimization, report development, troubleshooting, fostering continuous improvement, and collaborating on BI strategies and roadmaps
Skills in BI tool administration and configuration, including overseeing performance, security, scalability, monitoring, user permissions, security roles, data governance, compliance, and troubleshooting data integration issues
Proficiency in documentation, including data models, data flow diagrams, report specifications, user guides, development processes, queries, and configurations

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy business intelligence solutions (e.g., dashboards, reports, data visualizations) using BI tools like Tableau and native application report builders
Develop complex queries, reports, stored procedures, and data models to support business intelligence requirements
Leverage BI technologies to build interactive dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports providing meaningful insights
Implement and integrate data from various sources into BI platforms, ensuring consistency and accuracy
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand needs, translate into technical specifications, gather/document requirements, define KPIs, and align with business goals
Provide ongoing support to business teams, responding to queries, troubleshooting, and delivering new features/updates
Serve as the main point of contact for business users on BI tool functionality, data accessibility, and reporting needs
Provide guidance on BI best practices, query optimization, report development, and troubleshooting; foster continuous improvement and share knowledge
Collaborate with senior leadership to define BI strategies and contribute to the roadmap
Oversee administration and configuration of BI tools for optimal performance, security, and scalability
Monitor BI tool performance and recommend improvements
Manage user permissions and security roles for data governance and compliance
Troubleshoot data integration issues and collaborate with data engineering team
Develop and maintain documentation for BI solutions, including data models, data flow diagrams, report specifications, and user guides
Document development processes, queries, and configurations for consistency and maintainability
Create user documentation for accessing, interpreting, and utilizing BI solutions
Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on BI reports, dashboards, and data models
Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders before deployment
