Requirements

  • 6–10+ years in Analytics/BI with meaningful time supporting Finance/FP&A; proven success building or leading a small BI team while remaining hands-on
  • Advanced SQL; experience with BigQuery (preferred) or similar cloud warehouses; familiarity with dbt/Fivetran/Airflow (or equivalents) a plus
  • Expertise in Tableau or Looker (LookML) and dashboard design best practices
  • Experience with NetSuite (ERP) and Salesforce (CRM) strongly preferred; comfortable with their data models, connectors, and reporting nuances
  • Experience enabling FP&A workflows and connecting warehouse data to planning tools (Anaplan or similar)
  • Comfort establishing metric definitions, data contracts, and test/monitoring frameworks
  • Executive-caliber storytelling; ability to influence cross-functionally (Finance, Business Systems, RevOps, Delivery, People)
  • Mindset: Player-coach, systems thinker, bias-to-action, and outcome-focused

Responsibilities

  • Build the BI org in Finance: Define the team charter, operating model, and hiring plan. Provide dotted-line guidance to BI Analysts hired by Business Systems and transition them to direct management as the team scales
  • Own the metrics & semantic layer: Establish a governed KPI catalog (company, segment, function), metric definitions, and a single source of truth for exec reporting
  • Dashboards & self-service: Design, build, and maintain executive and functional dashboards in Tableau or Looker (LookML); enable self-service with curated datasets
  • Data quality & pipelines: Partner with Business Systems/Data Engineering to review ELT/ETL pipelines, implement tests/alerts, and ensure reliability, timeliness, and completeness across key sources (e.g., NetSuite ERP, Salesforce CRM, HRIS)
  • Modeling for Finance: Create finance-ready data models for revenue, opex, and headcount; manage master data, mapping tables, and dimensional design that align to the GL and cost-center structure
  • Planning systems integration: Help set up and maintain our planning model (e.g., Anaplan); design data contracts and automated connectors from the warehouse to planning
  • Reporting cadence: Produce board/ELT reporting packages, variance bridges, and driver trees; automate recurring reporting with clear "so-what" insights and owner actions
  • AI-assisted analytics: Pilot anomaly detection, narrative generation, and reconciliation automations to accelerate monthly/quarterly cycles
