The ability to lift 50 pounds is also required. Approximately 15% overnight travel is expected.
The Field Technical Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring Alcon equipment at customer sites and for demos functions effectively. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and managing installations and upgrades within an assigned service territory. The role involves identifying and correcting complex start-up problems, researching and recommending equipment upgrades, and developing customer relationships to secure future business, including Annual Maintenance Contract sales and renewals. Responsibilities also include documenting service logs, preparing reports for product failure analysis, escalating issues to engineering teams, managing daily schedules, maintaining communication with stakeholders, and adhering to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accurate documentation. The engineer must complete all required training and contribute to organizational compliance and continuous improvement.
