Requirements

Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
5+ years experience in system, customer engineering support, or similar roles
Expertise in embedded systems, including hardware, firmware, and system integration (e.g., microcontrollers, power systems, connectivity, real-time OS)
Proven ability to debug under pressure, rapidly isolating issues across layers (hardware, drivers, application, connectivity)
Broad familiarity with the embedded landscape, including Android AOSP, kernel development, commonly used MCUs and Application Processors , and communication standards (CAN, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, PCIe, MIPI, LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, BLE)
Specific familiarity with Qualcomm chipsets and Qualcomm-based devices preferred
Problem-solving mentality with a systems-thinking approach
Experience with customer-facing activities and translating complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Fluency in telemetry, interpreting logs, uptime percentages, battery levels, CPU load, etc
Structured troubleshooting methodology
Commitment to closing feedback loops
Willingness to travel (~25%)
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

Be the go-to technical expert for escalated field issues
Support and troubleshoot devices directly in the field
Ensure customers get the maximum value from products
Provide remote and on-site support
Troubleshoot complex issues
Provide feedback to internal hardware and software teams
Act as the face of Flock in the field
Reproduce and solve problems quickly across teams
Communicate problems back to stakeholders for root-cause fixes and roadmap impact
Contribute to field testing activities and prioritized deployments
Share knowledge with colleagues
