Minimum 10 years of sales experience, preferably in polyethylene
Strong knowledge of the polyethylene industry, including factors influencing supply/demand and pricing
Ability to compile data independently to analyze the current market landscape
Polymer knowledge and end-use process technology knowledge
Expertise in sales strategies, face-to-face selling skills, and specialized products or markets based on long and proven track record
Ability to effectively and independently communicate orally and in writing to appropriate audiences in a timely manner
Ability to make presentations to customers and management
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other software tools
Ability to complete responsibilities and projects assigned by management in a timely manner
Responsibilities
Works under the direction of the Sr. Manager-Field Sales but operates independently on a day-to-day basis
Responsible for regional and some National accounts (e.g., plants, technical, corporate) with product line responsibilities to stabilize and/or grow value at key accounts
Develops and maintains relationships with top executives at corporate level down to production personnel at factory level (multi-level selling)
Manages accounts with increased complexity in Market Segmentation or Product Mix
Negotiates prices and sales volumes for all products
Sets the account strategy for all accounts, including product mix, margin upgrade, optimal ship-to locations, sales call frequency, management visit frequency, technical service visit frequency, and agenda
Leads problem-solving analysis in assigned areas and participates in non-assigned areas; serves as a key internal resource
Responsible for new account development in assigned market segment, product line, or geography based on Sr. Manager direction
Projects market, sales trends, and forecasts
Acts as team lead and makes decisions on critical sales initiatives
Develops detailed annual sales plan and coordinates functional resources to deliver on plan and new developments
Contributes to process improvements and efficiency in the department
Forecasts customer sales volumes annually and on a rolling 90-day basis
Participates in interdepartmental meetings to address account needs or issues and contributes to process improvements
Complies with all Company policies and procedures
Supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence, including reviewing areas for improvement opportunities, initiating projects, communicating ideas, and participating on project teams
Performs any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned
