Candidates should have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, ML engineer, or equivalent, preferably in a startup environment, with founder or founding engineer experience being highly valued. Proficiency in Python and JavaScript, a strong understanding of AI/LLM best practices, and experience building or delivering prototypes on the OpenAI API platform are required. A passion for startups and their potential, the ability to proactively identify opportunities for customer business value through the OpenAI API, and a willingness to acquire necessary knowledge to complete tasks are essential. The ideal candidate is a humble, collaborative, and effective operator capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing effectively.
The Solutions Architect will partner with strategic startup customers as a technical thought partner to build novel applications on the OpenAI API, guiding them from ideation to scale. They will provide proactive guidance to maximize business impact and accelerate application development, experiment and prototype alongside customers to demonstrate practical use cases, and contribute to open-source resources by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing useful materials. This role involves synthesizing and delivering valuable feedback to Product and Research teams, and building relationships within the startup ecosystem to serve as a technical partner to both individual customers and the broader community.
