Familiarity with infrastructure as code and tools like Terraform is also necessary. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), event-driven architecture, message queues, commerce platforms, developer experience tooling, and knowledge of fintech compliance and security best practices.
The role involves full-stack development, designing, developing, and maintaining backend services in Go and frontend applications in TypeScript. Responsibilities include optimizing databases like PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch for high availability and performance, leading incident investigations, and participating in on-call rotations. The engineer will collaborate directly with merchants to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions, as well as implement and maintain fraud detection tools, card tokenization, and blocklisting. Building and maintaining REST APIs and webhooks for integration with external commerce platforms, using Datadog for logging, monitoring, and tracing, and identifying inefficiencies to automate workflows and develop proactive monitoring solutions are also key duties.
