Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in sales within the payments industry with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. A deep understanding of embedded payment processing technologies, including card-present and card-not-present, is essential, along with strong knowledge of payment processing systems, gateways, APIs, and software integration. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards are necessary. The role also requires the ability to travel as needed, and relevant certifications are preferred.
The Payments Sales Engineer will provide payments expertise and support to the sales team and prospective merchants, acting as a subject matter expert on payment products and services. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the payments industry, collaborating with product development teams, and identifying and closing new business opportunities. The role involves training sales teams, engaging with key stakeholders to understand their payment needs, and staying abreast of competitive offerings. Additionally, the Payments Sales Engineer will build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders, act as a trusted advisor to clients, and work with stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful implementation and configuration of payment solutions. Participation in industry events is also expected.
