Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and 2-4 years of experience in DevOps or software engineering roles. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Go is required, along with familiarity with Infrastructure as Code/Infrastructure as Configuration (IaC) tools like Terraform and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment systems like Jenkins or Tekton, and containerization/orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes, are also necessary. Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, the ELK stack, or similar managed services is required, alongside strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
The Software Engineer II will contribute to the development of an API-first platform for managing infrastructure, upholding high-quality coding standards focused on reusability, maintainability, performance, and testability. They will design, implement, and maintain platform infrastructure by automating workflows related to various data stores, ensuring adherence to best practices in security including authentication, authorization, encryption, and auditing. The role involves providing operational support for systems and infrastructure associated with data store clusters, participating in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and availability, and providing understanding of API design and development principles.
