Position Overview

We are looking for an engineer to join our small, highly collaborative Makeswift team. This role will focus on building multiple features to improve team workflows, including version control systems, commenting, and custom roles/permissions. You will also have the opportunity to work on our open-source runtime, which powers visual editing with Next.js, and contribute to rethinking APIs for new features like React Server Components. A key focus will be on improving existing and developing new back-end services to power our builder and public APIs, with an emphasis on API performance and reliability as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build features that improve team workflows such as version control, commenting, and custom roles/permissions.
  • Contribute to the open-source runtime powering visual editing with Next.js.
  • Rethink APIs to support new features like React Server Components.
  • Develop and improve back-end services for the builder and public APIs.
  • Focus on API performance and reliability.
  • Consider business implications and balance quality, speed, and the bottom line in all work.
