Requirements

Candidates should have a relevant degree in Computer Science or 3+ years of software development experience. Proficiency in Python or a similar high-level language and familiarity with frontend development are required. Expertise across the full software development lifecycle, strong communication skills, and proven team contribution effectiveness are essential. Experience with Dagster, data engineering, MLOps, AI pipelines, data platforms, infrastructure as code, Docker, growth engineering, large-scale distributed systems, B2B SaaS, and user engagement are considered nice-to-have qualifications.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will contribute to the core Dagster framework by designing, implementing, and maintaining foundational features for data orchestration. Responsibilities include enhancing the open source developer experience through documentation and tooling, building and extending Components for modular data platform development, and evolving the core API. Additionally, the engineer will drive AI-driven innovation by exploring and implementing scaffolding and automation tools, and improve local development and testing workflows for developers.
