Requirements

Candidates should have production experience with Kubernetes and Helm, professional proficiency in Ruby and Go, and strong Bash scripting skills. Experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code workflows, and databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is also required.

Responsibilities

The Backend Engineer will maintain and evolve the GitLab Omnibus package, contribute to GitLab Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments, and enhance the GitLab Environment Toolkit (GET). They will also support the GitLab Operator for Kubernetes-native lifecycle management, ensure a reliable installation and upgrade experience, and collaborate with the Security team to address vulnerabilities. Additionally, the role involves building automation pipelines for testing deployment tools, working with various engineering teams for feature integration, creating user-focused documentation, and ensuring deployment methods meet quality and reliability standards.
