Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent education and relevant experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience with Python, Java, and Javascript is required, along with at least 2 years of experience in building and maintaining ETL workflows and data pipelines. Experience with AWS (S3) or similar cloud-based infrastructure, relational databases, and full-stack development, with a focus on backend development, is also necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Experience with Cassandra, React, Kafka, Grafana, Git, Jira, data modeling, visualizations from relational databases, agile environments, and data migrations are considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer - Backend Developer will participate in the design, build, test, implementation, and sustainment phases of a sensor data aggregation product. Responsibilities include building and maintaining applications, services, APIs, and user-interfaces for cloud-hosted data management platforms. This involves leveraging experience with large-scale database development principles, data modeling, ETL utilization, designing and developing web-based user-interfaces, and providing ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems. The role also requires working directly with users to implement new features and debug issues, providing technical guidance to team members, collaborating with product owners on engineering roadmaps, and developing features on both backend and frontend.
