Exceptional problem-solving skills utilizing first-principles thinking and strong programming skills with CS fundamentals are essential, along with a track record of implementing highly reliable software. A formal CS degree is not required, but a high growth mindset and continuous improvement in technical and non-technical skills are valued. Experience with Go, GraphQL, Docker, or AWS is considered a bonus.
The Backend Software Engineer will partner with product managers to lead the technical planning of member experience improvements. They will design systems that span multiple services to ensure consistent, fast, and clean data flow. Responsibilities also include swiftly addressing issues, investing in resolutions to improve product reliability, participating in and influencing technical decisions of the wider Applications Engineering team, and promoting software engineering best practices across teams.
