Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and have at least 7 years of experience in database development and administration, with a strong focus on MySQL. Experience with distributed database systems and performance tuning is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud technologies and database migration strategies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

The Staff Software Developer, Databases will be responsible for discovering and resolving complex performance and scalability issues within Clio’s core applications and databases, primarily focusing on iterating and evolving the infrastructure, data schema, application code, and products. They will collaborate with engineering teams to implement scalable patterns, particularly at the RDBMS layer, guide development teams on database optimization, and participate in architectural discussions to shape the future direction of backend services. Additionally, they will scope and implement automation and processes to ensure the reliability of Clio’s datastores, and elevate database knowledge within the engineering organization.
