Backend Engineer (Java)

Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience working in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building medium to large-scale on Cloud platforms, and experience developing applications and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Go, OpenAPI, Fargate, and Lambda. They should also have experience utilizing AWS cloud native services and data engineering, along with current or prior experience developing API endpoints with Java or Go, and a tenacity to dive into problems and iterate in working code.
The Software Engineer will work with fellow Nava engineers to design, review, and build well-crafted software, collaborate with government partners and other contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems, and work in an agile manner to efficiently ship new features that meet user needs. They will create tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows, write and review technical documentation, perform code reviews, participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and investigate issues, and take part in hiring activities as needed.
