Working knowledge of methods, work practices, and procedures regarding the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure at both secondary and primary operating voltages
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Maintain switching and tagging qualifications
Strong knowledge of computers and related technology; ability to learn and utilize available information technologies; ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
Five (5) or more years of related experience (previous experience in electric distribution and in a supervisory role preferred)
Valid Motor Vehicle License (D.O.T. Driver’s License preferred)
Availability for shift work (four 10-hour day-shifts, schedule subject to change), storm duty assignments, on-call rotation, emergency restoration, travel between MA/CT/NH, and long hours in varied outdoor conditions, adverse weather, and terrain
Responsibilities
Provide leadership to ensure safe, timely, and efficient completion of work efforts relating to construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of electric distribution and transmission systems
Ensure effective coordination among and between individuals and departments in the district/division
Actively promote and enforce a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture; set safety expectations, resolve safety issues timely, communicate safety lessons learned, and promote continuous learning of safe work methods
Engage and motivate employees to deliver the best possible customer experience
Make decisions and prioritize work to ensure safe and appropriate use of assigned resources
Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, address performance issues, and conduct comprehensive performance reviews per applicable bargaining unit contract
Ensure proper application of local union contracts and agreements; work with managers and employees to resolve grievances and concerns timely
Participate in pre-construction reviews and coordinate work with other utilities, Eversource departments, and outside contractors
Ensure work is completed within budgetary guidelines
Prepare, review, and approve time, expense, materials, and other company records accurately and timely per guidelines
Demonstrate and role model a customer-first attitude; seek to quickly resolve customer issues by collaborating with employees and other departments
Fulfill storm duty assignments and participate in on-call rotation as required
Provide coverage in Southborough, Somerville, Waltham, Walpole, and Hyde Park
