Requirements

Candidates must possess over 5 years of professional software development experience with a strong backend/API focus, and over 5 years of technical leadership or engineering management experience, including at least 3 years of direct people management. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required (Master's preferred), along with 3-5 years of experience in diagnostics, precision medicine, digital health, or biotech sectors. Proven experience delivering software using Agile methodology in regulated environments is essential, as is familiarity with data interoperability standards like HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR, programming frameworks such as Node.js and TypeScript, cloud platforms like AWS/Azure, clinical systems (Epic, Cerner), security and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR), and development tools including the Atlassian suite and GitHub/GitLab.

Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Manager will lead and manage a team of developers focused on building data interoperability solutions, including HL7 and FHIR-based integrations. Responsibilities include designing, architecting, and delivering a data interoperability framework for seamless connectivity across lab systems, EHRs, cloud services, and clinical tools. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with the next-gen platform team, partnering with product management to translate requirements into technical specifications, and working with security, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure software meets privacy, security, and regulatory standards. Additionally, the manager will promote Agile development practices, mentor team members, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
