Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of distributed systems, infrastructure software (databases, message queues, SaaS, Big Data), and experience with technical sales. Familiarity with Java or Python, experience developing ETL applications, and a background in building solutions with Apache Kafka are considered advantageous. Knowledge of systems operations concepts and experience building/operating large-scale systems are also beneficial.

Responsibilities

The Senior Solutions Engineer will act as a key technical advisor during the sales process, driving customer success with real-time data streams. Responsibilities include leading technical evaluations, conducting discovery and whiteboard sessions, executing technical proofs of concept, and providing thought leadership through talks and workshops. The role involves guiding customers on operational maturity, analyzing consumption trends for optimization, and advocating for Confluent's product roadmap to customers, partners, and the wider community. Building strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and collaborating closely with sales, product management, and engineering teams are also core duties.
