Requirements

Candidates should have hands-on experience building and operating large scale, complex distributed cloud computing infrastructure products, preferably with experience in redundant and fault tolerant storage solutions. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle is required, along with strong experience in at least one application programming language like Java or Go. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform is essential, as well as knowledge of Linux Systems Internals and computer architecture. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary, and candidates must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

The Staff Software Engineer will lead engineering efforts on cloud storage features by collaborating with product and engineering teams to define and execute features on the roadmap. They will write and review code, generate and review design documentation, and participate in qualifications and rollouts of software. The role includes guiding the engineering team through architecture decisions, design processes, and code reviews, while also mentoring and growing engineers. Additionally, the engineer will champion cross-team initiatives, benchmark and analyze performance, and improve scale and resiliency issues.
