A Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a related IT program is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in identifying security issues, risks, and developing mitigation plans to meet audit requirements, along with a strong understanding of cloud security threats, is necessary. Deep experience with hyperscalers like AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as interconnect/colocation centers, is essential. Solid experience with application architectures and effective strategies for cloud migration or refactoring is also required. Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical architectures to both C-suite executives and technical experts are crucial.
The Cloud Architect will drive a cloud-centric architecture approach for managed services, ensuring security best practices and improving operational efficiencies. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to align, design, implement, test, deploy, secure, and automate infrastructure services for SaaS solutions on Azure/AWS. Responsibilities include developing and managing a multi-tenant cloud strategy, creating cloud reference architectures, documenting architectural principles, and standardizing specifications. The architect will assess, design, implement, automate, and document security solutions to meet compliance requirements, partnering with Security Operations teams to define cloud security best practices. Key tasks include developing baseline cloud, container, and application security standards, creating cost/utilization tracking processes, and maintaining documentation for cloud security systems. The role also involves driving proof-of-concept research, evaluating new technologies, generating detailed design documentation, acting as a subject matter expert for project delivery, leading executive briefing presentations, evangelizing cloud technology vision and strategy, and providing multi-cloud thought leadership. Collaboration with the Operations team to remove technical roadblocks and guide operational efficiency is also a key responsibility.
