Software Engineer, Observability

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

Develop and design software applications for a driverless technology company. This role focuses on building and improving observability systems, tools, and their associated codebase.

Responsibilities

  • Build out and improve observability systems, tools, and the related codebase.
  • Contribute code, perform code reviews, and create technical designs that improve the performance and reliability of observability systems using software and systems engineering skills.
  • Partner with other Software Engineering teams to understand use-cases and guide engineers in effectively using existing tools.
  • Build tools to enable engineers to collect and act on observability signals.
  • May telecommute.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Software Engineer, or a related occupation with a focus on distributed systems reliability.
  • Required Skills:
    • Golang
    • Operating Systems, including Linux
    • Python Programming and Distributing Python Applications
    • Working with Prometheus, Grafana, TSDBs, and observability pipelines
    • Kubernetes Container Orchestration System, including production experience managing, upgrading, and creating clusters in different cloud systems and for different workloads
    • Administering and Designing Cloud Oriented Solutions on Azure, GCP, or AWS.

Compensation

  • Expected Base Compensation: $206,315 - $216,315 Annually
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
  • Actual base compensation will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
