Position Overview

CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, protecting the people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Our mission is to stop breaches, and we have redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We operate at a massive scale, processing almost 3 trillion events per day with 3.44 PB of RAM deployed across our fleet of C* servers, and this traffic is growing daily. We are a mission-driven company that fosters a culture of flexibility and autonomy, empowering our employees to own their careers. We are seeking talented individuals with a passion for innovation and a commitment to our customers, community, and each other.

About the Role

We are building the next-generation infrastructure and security platform for CrowdStrike, encompassing an application and service delivery platform, massively scalable distributed data storage and replication systems, and a cutting-edge search and distributed graph system. This role offers the opportunity to scale CrowdStrike's infrastructure and products to handle immense growth in traffic and data.

If you are an algorithmic thinker who thrives on optimization, this role is for you. You will be deeply involved in our core codebase, pushing the capabilities of our platform and driving optimizations across the entire product architecture. Crowdstrike Falcon is the industry standard in cloud-native cybersecurity and threat hunting, processing trillions of events per day. You will have bottom-up ownership of our core codebase, influencing architectural choices that impact all feature development teams and providing shared architectural components for the Falcon Platform, such as Unified Search and Protobuf libraries.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain services to meet reliability and scalability demands.
  • Develop and enhance monitoring services.
  • Extend and build new libraries for cross-cutting concerns that span CrowdStrike's cloud platform, which includes hundreds of libraries and services.
  • Continuously re-evaluate our product to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and stability.
  • Utilize and contribute to the open-source community.
  • Evangelize best practices for building software, particularly in Go.
  • Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams.
  • Champion the learning and adoption of new technologies and techniques, raising the technical IQ of the team.
  • Mentor other developers on web, backend, and data storage technologies, as well as our system.
  • Update OSS dependencies as needed.
  • Be mentored and mentor other developers on web security, authentication, and authorization strategies.
  • Act as an energetic self-starter with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.

What You'll Need

  • United States Citizenship OR Permanent Residency is required to retain access to resources in AWS GovCloud (NO Clearance necessary).
  • 7+ years of full-time experience in a service-oriented backend developer role.
  • 5+ years developing microservices for a SaaS product, using one of the following object-oriented languages: Golang, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Python, Node.js.
  • Degree in Computer Science (or commensurate experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems).
  • Expert-level knowledge of Golang.
  • The ability to scale backend systems.
