Introduction to Position

NPR's Salesforce CRM is crucial for various business processes, including donor management, managing the NPR Network of Member organizations, and powering digital experiences for millions of Americans. As NPR expands its digital platforms and audience engagement, it is investing in its audience relationships. The Salesforce platform supports key audience processes such as newsletter subscriptions, audience engagement strategies, user identity and login management, and donor management and retention. This role is central to NPR's data-informed audience strategies.

The Senior Salesforce Developer, Audience Products will join a team focused on growing new known users, enhancing audience engagement, and improving donor conversion and retention. This role involves leveraging Salesforce to implement a wide range of product features for audience experiences, including integrations with external systems like payment gateways, fundraising technology providers, user identity management systems, and email service providers. The ideal candidate will be adept at working across projects, understanding various technical layers, and proactively implementing efficient, scalable, and sustainable Salesforce solutions to meet product requirements and NPR's strategic goals. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, automation, UI design, security (including SSO), testing, and integrations is expected to drive platform innovation, optimization, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and iterate on multi-level NPR audience needs, analyzing Salesforce processes that connect audience experiences with staff facilitation for engagement and conversion to sign-in, donation, and subscription.
  • Enable the use of Salesforce managed data to inform user experiences on NPR-managed products such as NPR.org, the mobile app, and other platforms for both contributors and non-contributors.
  • Lead new platform development in support of audience product priorities by implementing Salesforce code that helps achieve NPR’s strategic goals for identifying known/logged-in users, deepening audience engagement, converting users into financial contributors, and retaining their support.
  • Maintain system integrity and security, ensuring compliance with data governance policies.
  • Optimize and refactor existing code and processes for improved performance and reliability.
  • Manage deployment processes across development, test, and production environments.
  • Partner with cross-divisional teams.
