Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience as a product manager or in a similar role, with a proven track record of defining, designing, building, and managing user-facing products and successfully growing a new user base or launching new products. Expertise in user-facing products, mobile application development, and mobile user experience, including creating demos and interactive prototypes, is required. Experience working with users and digital communities in regions such as the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia, or Latin America is also preferred. Candidates based in locations within UTC+0000 and UTC+0530 will be given preference.
The Senior Product Manager will develop and drive strategy for user experience on Wikipedia, aligning with global trends in knowledge creation and consumption. They will become an expert on the goals and challenges of diverse Wikipedia users, build the product roadmap, define products, write requirements, prototype, develop, and launch products and features. This role involves managing products through their full lifecycle, measuring impact with qualitative and quantitative methods, and articulating long-term vision. The Product Manager will work with cross-functional teams, collaborate with global volunteer community members, and coordinate with other departments like Marketing and Partnerships to expand user engagement. They will also release and iterate on products intentionally to provide incremental value and validate hypotheses.
