Candidates should have 3+ years of localization project management experience with a proven track record of delivering complex translation projects on time and within budget in fast-paced technology environments. Multilingual expertise including fluency in English plus one other language (ideally Japanese, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, or French) with deep cultural understanding is required. Technical proficiency with translation management systems like Phrase, HTML/CSS knowledge, familiarity with JSON/YAML file structures, and working knowledge of Jira, Zendesk, and Google Workspace are also necessary. A detail-oriented approach with the ability to evaluate vendor quality and pricing is essential.
The Product Localization Manager will manage end-to-end localization projects for Product and Engineering sectors, ensuring seamless delivery of translated content that maintains quality standards and meets critical deadlines. They will compare pricing across multiple language service providers, negotiate rates, and coordinate with specialized vendors to deliver cost-effective, high-quality translations. The role involves assigning and overseeing linguistic quality assurance reviews, performing quality checks, and ensuring all localized content complies with organizational guidelines while maintaining cultural authenticity and technical accuracy. Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to implement localized content into products, knowledge base, and platforms, working with HTML/CSS, JSON, and YAML is also a key responsibility. Maintaining, improving, and synchronizing translation memories and term bases across multiple projects to enhance localization efficiency and consistency, while updating process documentation for scalable operations, is also part of the role.
