Requirements

Candidates must possess strong genomics and Informatics technical knowledge and expertise, with a primary focus on Illumina’s enterprise products. They should be adept at engaging with C-level executives, business development executives, IT leaders, architects, developers, and bioinformaticians. Expertise is required in NGS research data analysis, management, sharing, and storage, as well as analysis, annotation, interpretation, and reporting from NGS testing in a clinical environment. Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), cloud-based workflows and pipelines, genomics applications and methods, data science including AI and Machine Learning, and laboratory notebooks is essential. The role also requires the ability to consult with customers on informatics requirements and provide proof-of-concept analysis.

Responsibilities

The Senior Informatics Sales Specialist will drive customer adoption and sales growth of Informatics products by providing technical guidance and subject matter expertise during the sales cycle. Responsibilities include consulting with customers on informatics requirements, providing proof-of-concept analysis, partnering with third-party providers for end-to-end solutions, and collaborating with sales team members. The specialist will develop and conduct informatics presentations and seminars, involve technical support roles for customer assessments, maintain positive customer relationships, provide Voice of Customer input to development and marketing teams, and train the broader sales organization on informatics. Additionally, they will assist customers in removing informatics barriers to unlock sample volume and drive consumable uptake, and play a significant role in ensuring customer license renewals.
