Requirements

  • Broad knowledge in poultry processing, scientific and technical fields, normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in a directly related academic field (preferred)
  • 2+ years in food manufacturing (preferred)
  • Prior supervisory experience (preferred)
  • HACCP certified (preferred); broad knowledge of HACCP, USDA, GMP, & SSOPs required
  • Standard computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note, Skype), Plant View, SAP, and other Tyson mandatory operating programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to correspond with all levels from line team members to corporate management
  • Ability to manage crewing, labor, and attendance of the 2nd shift FSQA department

Responsibilities

  • Daily oversight of production practices, including raw material receiving, preoperational and operational sanitation, finished product quality, and Food Safety Systems
  • Ensure adherence to all Tyson FSQA policies and procedures
  • Monitor, verify, and document adherence to government regulations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP and SSOP based inspection programs
  • Ensure finished products conform to customer product and label specifications
  • Report product issues and audit results to plant and corporate FSQA, plant management, corporate sales, R&D, and operations
  • Interact with customers and their agents for product showings, plant tours, and audits
  • Oversee investigation and response to quality-related customer complaints
  • Monitor microbiological results, conduct bacterial swabs, and generate shelf-life/environmental graphs
  • Conduct and promote sanitation training and education for employees
  • Implement and maintain case-ready food safety and quality programs
  • Select, train, and manage FSQA Supervisors and FSQA Technicians
